Dos Rios RanchRio Grande River Pasture |
| Only Tract 10 is Available |
Dos Rios Ranch ("Two Rivers") is located between two great rivers: the Pecos and the
Rio Grande. The water levels of both rivers, as well as Lake Amistad (Reservoir), have risen substantially,
due to an increase in rainfall over the past few years. Some of the photos below of Dos Rios Ranch were taken in early 2004,
before the rise in water level. To see the remarkable difference in water levels today, look at photos taken from the
Pecos River Bridge a few miles away.

This area of West Texas, known as the Trans Pecos region, was inhabited by primitive indians 3,000 to 4,000 years ago.
These indigenous peoples of the Lower Pecos region in Southwest Texas left evidence of their culture in caves and deep canyons
along the Rio Grande River. Native American rock art on cave and sheltering limestone walls, as well as burnt rock middens
(an accumulation of burned limestone rocks) can be found on Dos Rios Ranch.
Approximately eight miles east of the ranch is the White Shaman Preserve. Located near the
Seminole Canyon State Historical Park, the preserve's White Shaman pictographs are examples of the same
Pecos River Style Rock Art found on Dos Rios Ranch. These ancient drawings and paintings
of the Lower Pecos region are known to be the earliest religious art in the world. For more information on the
rock art found in the area visit The Rock Art Foundation.
